Course 5. Trailing Animals in Southern Africa

COMING SOON – Trailing can be considered the epitome of tracking. It’s where you put together the A, B, C’s that you learned in studying tracks and signs into sentences and paragraphs that tell a story of how an animal moves on the land and how it is moved by the land.

The course includes a digital download of The Tracker Mentoring Manual – Trailing Animals in Southern Africa, and membership in the private Facebook group and the Tracker Mentoring eLearning centre. As a student on the course, you will have first access to newly documented information about key aspects of trailing, such as aging, animal behaviors, and safe approaches in areas with dangerous animals, that will help with your trailing!

Remember, you aren’t a full tracker until you are doing all of the following:

“Trackers identify, interpret, follow, and find.”

Go beyond track and sign id, into the world of trailing!

Mentored online and through social media by Lee Gutteridge and Kersey Lawrence, who are both Senior Trackers and Evaluators of trackers with CyberTracker Conservation, the international “Gold Standard” for wildlife tracker training and certification.

Trailing Animals in Southern Africa – This is Course #5 in the Southern African Tracking Series. A how-to, interactive course from Tracker Mentoring, with practical exercises and teaching stories about following and finding animals. Extra benefits of enrolling in the course include: students receive membership into private online and social media forums with additional recommended resources, a community of their peers, and personal interaction with Lee and Kersey.
