Course 2. Mammals of Southern Africa and their Tracks & Signs

COMING SOON – An interactive course that guides you through the differences in the tracks and signs of over the mammal species in the published book, Mammals of Southern Africa and their Tracks and Signs, by Lee Gutteridge and Louis Liebenberg (book sold separately).

The course includes a digital download of The Tracker Mentoring Manual – Mammals of Southern Africa and their Tracks & Signs, and membership in the private Facebook group and the Tracker Mentoring eLearning centre. As a student on the course, you will have first access to newly documented mammal tracks and signs!

Mentored online and through social media by Lee Gutteridge and Kersey Lawrence, who are both Senior Trackers and Evaluators of trackers with CyberTracker Conservation, the international “Gold Standard” for wildlife tracker training and certification.

When most people think of tracking, they think of tracking large mammals: kudus, lions, elephants, etc. This course is based on Louis Liebenberg’s pioneering work with mammal tracks and signs, and includes the small mammals, too. Louis set the standard for animal track drawings with his A Field Guide to the Animal Tracks of Southern Africa in 1990, and no one has replaced his accuracy and detail – it hasn’t been necessary! The Tracker Mentoring Manual – Mammals of Southern Africa and their Tracks & Signs, written by Lee Gutteridge and Kersey Lawrence, guides you through Lee’s and Louis book of a similar name (sold separately), and includes all of Louis’s original drawings and more, and Lee’s excellent photography! This course analyses the details between mammal tracks and signs, and includes photographs and information that has gone unpublished or is newly discovered. Extra benefits of enrolling in the course include: students receive membership into private online and social media forums with additional recommended resources, a community of their peers, and personal interaction with Lee and Kersey.
